Evangelical church

Protestantism has a strong tradition in Prekmurje. The Lendava landlords Bánffyi also converted to the Protestant faith during the Reformation.

This had important cultural and historical consequences for Lendava. In the years from 1931 to 1934, the Evangelical Church was built by the master Josip Ascherl from Dolnja Lendava with classicist stylistic elements according to the building plans of the architect Antal Kelemena and is a twin of the Evangelical Church in Csorna, Hungary.
